Élesztőház – one of the coolest hangouts of District IX – celebrates its 4th birthday this year. This is a place where friends with various tastes can all find something to their liking: “beer geeks” can sip on true specialties, wine lovers can devour delicious high-quality libations thanks to VinoPiano, and the snacks here provide seriously tasty bites.
Élesztőház’s own farmers’ market, called Pancs and held every Sunday, is increasingly popular now, and they also host various beer-fueled events almost every week. Now, they opened a “two in one” unit above the wine bar; on one hand, it is a contemporary exhibition area, where guests can admire artworks amid an intimate atmosphere, and it is also enhanced with a terrace above the garden. This floor can be rented out for special events, and it can be altered to suit many occasions; a DJ booth as well as a beer tap can be installed here. The concept of hosting a downtown terrace party with free-flowing beer and without the risk of policemen popping in – not to mention not having to clean up in the morning – is not a bad idea, is it?
Wooden constructions enhance the interior of this new unit, and Élesztőház’s plan is to regularly hold temporary contemporary exhibits here. They are also always happy to be contacted by aspiring artists.
We already had the chance to check out the wide selection of Pancs’s producers, and to sip on fine glasses of red wine on the terrace while watching the sun go down. This place has a true Pest-style atmosphere with a view to towering apartment blocks, ivy running up the walls, a sizeable willow tree, and atmospheric lights. We would come back here anytime.
