There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – exhibitions, parties, live music, festivals, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

Rosalia – Rosé and Champagne Festival at the City Park
Between May 12-14, you can see the sprawling City Park in pink (or slightly blurred...) as the annual Rosalia Rosé and Champagne Festival takes place again here, awaiting bibulous Budapest dwellers with refreshing rosé wines, fizzy champagnes, and splendid sparkling libations amid an easygoing atmosphere. For one special night every spring, several of Budapest’s beautiful art-house theaters stay open until dawn to screen movies of various genres until the sun rises. This year, on Friday and Saturday, night owls can visit five Budapest cinemas – Művész, Puskin, Kino Café, Tabán, and Toldi – with one single wristband.

PaintCocktail at Szimpla Café

At PaintCocktail’s next event, you can replicate Van Gogh’s “Road with Cypress” with the help of a skilled English-speaking artist, while sipping on cool cocktail concoctions amid an laid-back and encouraging ambience at one of Budapest’s most iconic ruin pubs, Szimpla Café.
