Get Closer Budapest Jazz Festival at MOM Cultural Center
International jazz legends and domestic talents will be among the guests of the world-class Get Closer Budapest Jazz Festival. The event lasts from March 24th through the 26th, featuring two cool concerts each day. The list of performers includes John Scofield, Richard Galliano, Ron Carter, and Erik Truffaz.

Szimpla Dog – Hello, spring! Dog-friendly day at Szimpla Kert
Budapest’s most famous ruin pub hosts a special market on Saturday, where you can bring your four-legged friends and browse artisanal accessories and dog-friendly products while socializing with other proud dog owners. For the duration of the event, part of Kazinczy Street will be closed to traffic, and various activities and programs will be organized for the doggies. Earth HourEncouraged by WWF, millions of people, businesses, and landmarks around the globe switch off their lights for an hour on Saturday as a symbol of their commitment to the planet. Hungary also participates in the Earth Hour program that anyone can join by turning off their non-essential lights for an hour on Saturday at
8:30pm.
This year, several certified sustainable restaurants join this initiative by turning off their lights and offering special candlelit dinners that night, so you can enjoy a romantic dinner while you lift your glass for the Earth. See the list of participating restaurants here.

10am - 6pm: Lumos Maxima Lamp Making Workshop at TechnikaVisitors to Technika’s next workshop can learn the first and basic steps of working with wood and how to use the tools safely by making a lamp. Furthermore, a skilled handyman also presents how participants can put together their own lamp, so the workshop will not only be about woodworking, but also about basic electrician skills.
6:30pm - 9pm: Forrest Gump at the Bem CinemaThanks to the fantastic 1994 American comedy-drama film, Forrest Gump, most of us can’t help shouting “Run, Forrest, Run!” in certain inappropriate scenarios.
However, this highly sentimental film about a truly loveable lummox still brings us to tears. On Sunday, movie lovers can watch this classic again with original English audio and Hungarian subtitles at the Bem Cinema.
