Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – exhibitions, parties, live music, festivals, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

10am - 7pm: Mangalica Festival at Szabadság Square
Mouthwatering aromas linger in the air at Szabadság Square this weekend, as Budapest’s buoyant Mangalica Festival, celebrating Hungary’s own domestic-pig breed, is happening again during February 10-12. Here, visitors can experience Hungarian hospitality while trying Mangalica-based meal variations cooked under the open sky, as well as the country’s finest wines and pálinka specialties amid live-music performances and a friendly atmosphere.

8pm - 10pm: Emmanuel Top at Cinema Hall Budapest
French acid techno music producer Emmanuel Top was at the peak of his career in the ’90s. On Friday, he’s bringing an extensive set to his first-ever club concert in Budapest, where adapting to the audience, he evokes the amazing atmosphere of the ’90s. 8pm - 10:30pm: Marley 72 at A38A38 commemorates the greatest Jamaican reggae musician, philosopher, and free-spirited rebel, Bob Marley, with a series of performances including the concerts of a popular Hungarian reggae band, Ladánybene 27, Britain’s Shaska Black, and Romania’s Hascu Bratosin, among others. 10pm - 4am: Prohibition Party at Mika Tivadar MulatóCigars in the jacket pocket, a hat on the head, extravagant hair, and perfect pearls: don your most glamorous outfit on Friday night and let yourself be lured into the lavish, decadent, and wild world of the Roaring Twenties at Mika Tivadar Mulató, where alcoholic drinks are definitely not prohibited. Everyone who comes in a costume before midnight gets a free welcome drink at the party.
11pm - 6am: Corvin Club pres. Uto Karem at Corvin ClubItalian techno DJ, producer, and label manager Uto Karem collaborated with labels like Global Underground, Ministry of Sound, and Definitive over the past years, and launched his own record company called Agile Recordings in 2008. On February 10th he throws a fantastic gig at Corvin Club.
Saturday

3pm - 9pm: Bonjour Magnum at Millenáris Park A total of 200 Hungarian wine cellars present their finest whites and reds at Bonjour Magnum, one of the biggest wine-tasting and gastro festivals of the year. One ticket entitles visitors to taste unlimited amounts of flavorful Hungarian wine along with succulent snacks, and a Valentine’s Salon on the gallery also awaits visitors at this exciting event.
4:30pm - 8:30pm:
Titanic at Bem Cinema
On Saturday, the iconic story of the luxurious but ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic is back on the screen at Bem Cinema. In Titanic, 84 years after the heartwrenching tragedy, Rose Dewitt Bukater explains the events happening aboard the “unsinkable ship” during its first and last voyage in 1912, and reveals the details of her short but life-changing love affair with the kind-hearted artist and drifter, Jack Dawson.
6pm - 1am:

Dinner and Drinks at Brody Studios
On Saturday night, everyone – both two- and four-legged fellows – can swing by Brody Studios for a succulent dinner, like a chicken-bacon club sandwich, a dried tomato & spinach quiche, or vegetable meal variations, as well as intoxicating drink concoctions mixed together by Brody’s magic-handed bartender.

7:30pm - 11pm:
Astronautalis & his band, guest: Revue at Dürer Kert

American alternative hip-hop artist Astronautalis (aka Charles Andrew Bothwell) embarks on a tour with his band, presenting their brand-new and fifth album, “Cut The Body Loose”. On Saturday night they stop by Dürer Kert in Budapest for a fantastic concert.
10pm - 5am: NYDjay w/ Danny Avila [ESP] - “The Final” at Akvárium KlubUp-and-coming young DJs have an amazing opportunity to catapult their career onto the international stage, as the final of New Yorker’s DJ contest is held on February 11th at Akvárium Klub in Budapest. Sunday

10am - 6pm:
Budapest Fish Festival at Millenáris Park
At the three-day-long Budapest Fish Festival during February 12-14, experimental epicures can feast on various delicious fish dishes made exclusively from freshwater fish living in the lakes and rivers of Hungary. The event is also complete with a cooking contest, wine and pálinka tasting, live music, folklore shows, and cool kids’ programs. 10am - 4pm: Kiskertpiac (Flower Market) at AnkertAt the eco-friendly Kiskertpiac floral fair, fragrant flowers and plants, beautiful bouquets, and gastro and design products await visitors amid an easygoing atmosphere, where enthusiastic gardeners gladly provide everyone with creative inspirations and gardening tips and tricks. 8pm - 9:30pm: “Edmond” at Púder Bar and GalleryIn “Edmond”, an English-language one-act play by Pulitzer Prize-winning author and playwright David Mamet, white-collar worker Edmond descends deep into the dark underworld of New York City, losing his liberty, and drifting towards a truly brutal redemption.
8:30pm - 11pm: Beatles Unplugged with The Bits at Muzikum Klub & BisztroAt this unique event, both the audience and the musicians are seated for an exclusive and interactive unplugged acoustic concert, where visitors enjoy iconic hits of the Beatles – performed by a Hungarian tribute band, the Bits, – as well as tales, legends, and stories about the Fab Four.
