In EXTRA, there’s always a wide selection of drinks and good parties, but that’s not the only good offer here – it’s worth remembering that this upscale District VII ruin bar is equipped with a high-quality kitchen, producing foods after noon that even our grandmothers would envy – or at least they would nod approvingly at the sight of EXTRA’s lecsópepper stew or Gypsy roast. Based on the concept, the selection features both Hungarian and street-food dishes, so we can order a hamburger or grilled-sausage-filled EXTRA Grill-Dog (1,990 HUF) right after finishing a traditional chicken soup, served in a small red pot.EXTRA offers a lunch special every weekday from noon until 3pm, which includes three courses for only 1,190 forints. In addition, we can also choose a tempting dish from the à la carte menu, and they will soon have a chef’s offer, as well. The advent of spring is great news not only because guests will now be able to eat in the inner courtyard under the open sky and red umbrellas, but also because the bar will start offering refreshing shakes, among which the Nutella and coffee or the salty pretzel and caramel versions are a real treat.
Of course, EXTRA still offers plenty of alcoholic drinks.
We’ll be able to sip on varied beers, wines, and cocktails while watching the Olympics and the UEFA Euro on the big screen and munching on some potato sticks. It’s important to note that the kitchen operates until midnight on weekdays, and until 1am on Saturdays. From time to time, live music spices up the atmosphere; next week, NEMO will accompany guests’ dinner with acoustic guitar music.
So EXTRA is not only a great party venue and sophisticated bar, but also a great restaurant that can hold up to 300 people, and offers private rooms. In other words, the bar has everything that makes it an ideal event location: groups of guests can celebrate on two floors. Stag and hen parties are rather common, but we can also use the event rooms to celebrate birthdays or for team-building exercises. The favorite room of the bar guests is the “barrel” hidden in the back – groups quickly occupy this spot, so it’s recommended to book it well in advance. We don’t have to think small when it comes to events, either: next Friday, for example, an entire wedding party will take over the bar... but even a simple lunch here can be quite romantic, too!
