One of the most popular rock bands in the world will kick off their new tour in Hungary’s capital with a gig at Budapest SportArena on September 1st. UPDATE (May 13): the Californication will continue with a second Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in Budapest on September 2nd!

After 20 years, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be back in Budapest again, namely at the Budapest SportArena – fans can already mark September 1st in their calendars. The new album of RHCP, “The Gateway”, will be released on June 17th, so there’ll be plenty of time to learn the new lyrics just so the audience can sing along. The first single of their 11th album, “Dark Necessities”, was released worldwide at the music stores this morning. By the way, the price of the tickets will include a copy of the new album, “The Gateway” in the format of a digital upload, or a standard CD.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of the most successful bands in the history of rock, comprised of the quartet of singer Anthony Kiedis, bass player Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, selling over 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum winners.
RHCP has won six Grammy Awards, including Best Album of the Year for “Stadium Arcadium”, Best Rock Performance for “Dani California”, Best Rock Song for “Scar Tissue”, and Best Hard Rock Performance for “Give It Away”. The band was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April, 2012. Tickets will be available here beginning at 9am on May 13th. Besides the three differently priced seating areas and the normal standing tickets, a limited number of standing tickets for directly in front of the stage will also be available.
