You can put your feet into the psychedelic pool of Canadian abstract films, pick some of the pearls of the Malaysian and Vietnamese experimental films, choose from beautiful lyrical movies that were recorded on celluloid, and you can also watch one of the found-footage movies from the wildest duo of remixes.
8pm - 10.30pm: Middlemist Red, PAUW at A38 Ship Two bands – a Hungarian group and a Dutch outfit – keep blasting the ongoing vintage rock revival! Middlemist Red’s main inspiration channels from late-’60s and early-’70s rock bands like the Beatles and Pink Floyd, as well as bands from the new wave of psychedelic rock like the Black Angels and Tame Impala. Although PAUW just formed two years ago, they’ve already opened for bands like Temples or Kasabian. With a savage drummer, a bombastic bassist, a mesmerizing keyboardist, and a charismatic guitarist with dreamy vocals, they’ll take you on a magical and unforgettable trip that will remain with you for a long time.
8pm: Steven Wilson at RAM Colosseum Steven Wilson, four-time Grammy nominee, multi-instrumentalist, musician, producer, and one of the hardest-working artists in music, has announced that he will continue his European tour in 2016 promoting his exceptionally popular album, “Hand. Cannot. Erase.”, which was released in March this year. Steven Wilson will have a concert in Hungary for the first time on April 22nd onstage at RAM Colosseum.
11pm - 6am: Motown Budapest Presents Fred P at Corvin ClubFred P has been holding it down for the Big Apple’s house scene for over a decade, originally under the name Black Jazz Consortium but also as Fred P and a series of other aliases (among them Anomaly and FP197). Early press around Fred tied him in with a revival of sorts in the New York house community, but although there are clear links – both musically and personally – to the likes of Jus Ed and DJ Qu, there’s a subtle virtuosity and eccentricity to Fred’s records that makes him his own man, even at their most simple. His mixes are wonderfully curated, impeccably mixed, and are basically an intrinsically soulful listen that is nonetheless well-suited for the dance floor.Saturday
