This past weekend’s Budapest100 celebration welcomed the public inside many beautiful century-old buildings of Pest’s Grand Boulevard, enabling the city’s architecture enthusiasts to visit a number of significant structures that are ordinarily off-limits. Most of the buildings that opened their doors for this annual event hosted programs ranging from art exhibits and guided tours to live concerts and dance displays. As one of the event’s partners, We Love Budapest was there – and we produced a fun mini-movie about some of the attractions enjoyed by Budapest100 participants at various locales.

Budapest100 provides the public with the rare opportunity to step inside of a huge number of architecturally significant century-old Budapest buildings – ranging from private apartment buildings to grand hotels to public landmarks – during a single weekend. This year, the public was welcomed inside many of the buildings along Pest’s Grand Boulevard, with each participating structure indicated with giant yellow signs inviting them to explore the interior, where organizers, volunteers, and residents enthusiastically guided visitors on building tours, or hosted special exhibitions and entertainment like live music and dance shows.

If you were among the many folks who followed your fascination into the Budapest100 buildings this past weekend, watch the special (Hungarian-language) video produced by We Love Budapest below – maybe you’ll spot yourself and your friends admiring the assorted architectural attractions!
