According to Mercer’s annual research, Budapest is now the 77th most livable city in the world, and it ranks third in Central-Eastern Europe, following Prague and Ljubljana. The survey says Vienna has the highest quality of living on this list containing 230 places, all judged according to 39 factors.

According to the survey, the second-, third-, and fourth-best places in the world are Zürich, Auckland, and Munich, while Vancouver ranked fifth. Budapest gained the 77th spot among the 230 cities. The 2016 list is mostly led by Western-European cities based on their quality of living; some of the deciding factors were each city’s transportation, cultural environment, medical services, living expenses, public safety, and environmental situation.

Prague has the highest quality of living in the Central-Eastern European region, and it ranked 69th on the overall list, followed by Ljubljana and Budapest. The research was mainly made for multinational companies who send their employees abroad. Baghdad ranked as the least livable city in the world, while the lowest ranking in this region was Minsk.
