9am - 8pm: Harry Houdini exhibition at the National Széchényi Library 2016 marks the 90th anniversary of the death of American illusionist and magician Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz), who was of Hungarian origin. Houdini was the greatest escape artist of all time, and also one of the greatest performers of the modern age.
In cooperation with Houdini House Budapest, the National Széchényi Library will exhibit this unique private collection, which shows the life and work of the famous illusionist through original relics and props from the American movie about Houdini’s life from 2014. The exhibition will be open for one month, until February 27th, from Tuesday through Saturday every week in Building “F” of the Royal Palace.
9am - 10pm: 4th Budapest Fish Festival at Millenáris Park The 4th Budapest Fish Festival awaits lovers of fish dishes from February 12th through February 14th, at a new location, Millenáris Park. At the largest fish festival of Europe, guests can meet more than 200 exhibitors, and enjoy many seafoodspecialties. According to the organizers, everything will be made of fish – even the sausages. Visitors can choose among various attractions and programs, like fish-soup cooking contests, the fish-duel of the best local chefs, and foreign fish dishes.

Sanja Kosonen & Elice Abonce Muhonen / Galapiat Cirque (FIN/FR): Capilotractées at TrafóEnchanted by the beauty of weightlessness and the dream of flying, Finnish artists Sanja and Elice have revived the old and forgotten circus art of hair hanging. As though in a dream, the two women float upwards, magically suspended only by their hair. As their extraordinary, graceful aerial duet begins, poetry and wonder combine to magical effect. Never nostalgic, Capilotractées is offbeat, yet feminine and sensual, taking hair – a sacred emblem of femininity – and playing with the powerful emotions that it arouses in us all.
10pm: 8th Monkey6 Birthday Bash – Bad Mojo, Michael Priest at AETHERBad Mojo (founder of web magazine and label splash.sk) is a DJ, producer, and remixer from Bratislava, Slovakia. The sound of his production, as well as his DJ sets, is quite diverse, ranging from house and bass music to UK funky, dubstep, or juke. Together with Michael Priest (resident DJ and promoter of Hochspannung! and Dead Horse parties), they form an unbeatable duo, that will keep you on the dance floor all night long. 11pm: Technokunst Presents – SHXCXCHCXSH at LÄRMThe once-industrial city of Norrköping in eastern Sweden may not be the techno mecca of the world, but the two members of Shxcxchcxsh find their hometown a perfect place to focus on music since the inception of this project. They found each other in Stockholm years back, both started sharing love for the darker and experimental side of techno, and soon followed the natural progression of working together. Their backgrounds range from hip-hop to rock-pop, which brings a rich knowledge to shape their deadly serious techno, born out of the elements of noise, drone, glitch, broken beats, pounding industrial, and much more.

2pm - 2am: PixelNap at GólyaThe aim of PixelNap (aka PixelDay) is to build a community of (retro) video-game addicts. On Saturday and Sunday at Gólya, you not only will find all kinds of arcade relics, but you can also participate in workshops and retro video-game championships (like Wizard Of War), attend concerts, learn about VJ-ing, or see a small exhibition that showcases press articles about the Hungarian video-game scene and other goodies.
8pm: Emika – DREI audio-visual show, MYGL at A38 Ship Berghain techno-mistress Emika is returning to the A38Ship with a stunning and overwhelming audio-visual show, this time mixing atmospheric melodies and glitchy electronic beats influenced by early dubstep, electronica, classical music, and beyond.
8.30pm: Fran Palermo – Pre-Valentine’s Day Party at KuplungFran Palermo is Hungary’s one and only vagabond rock ’n’ roll band, with no less than nine members bringing a unique sun-soaked vibe to the local music scene. With inspirations ranging from Primal Scream to Allah-Las, and from tropical rock to desert blues, there is no chance that there won’t be some elements in their sound that you like. They are currently gearing up for the follow-up of their much anticipated debut album released last year, so this might be the first time where you can hear one of the new songs.
10pm: Tütü presents Je Suis Belle – Glitter Carnival at Tütü It’s an old dream of Je Suis Belle, a leading Hungarian house of style, to have a party with you in a glittery, carnival atmosphere. Go there, put on your most glittering dress or a costume, and dance until dawn.
The first 250 arrivals will receive glitter powder as a gift.
Monkeyneck and Jay Shaw will take care of the mood from the DJ console.
11pm: Corvin Club presents Matador at Corvin Club Expect a huge celebration of techno on February 13th, as Corvin Club will host a special live show by Irish veteran Matador, one of the most important creative forces behind the labels Minus and Plus 8. Having launched his career with music played on Perc Trax and Cocoon, he quickly drew Richie Hawtin’s attention, who became his mentor and introduced him to a wider audience as a permanent member of his Minus events.
Matador launched his live project in 2012, which gave his music a more mature and unique sound. In the past three years, he’s been a constant resident of the Enter party series in Ibiza, besides doing his duty in his studio as well.Sunday

Louis CK – Live at the Beacon Theater at Bem CinemaLouis CK is one of the best contemporary comedians – he is just as good as George Carlin or Richard Pryor was. He manages to tell his opinion on daily life with incredible vibrancy and humor. In his comedy special, Live At The Beacon Theater, he is in full force, delivering one punchline after another. From his thoughts on childhood from being too old to do drugs, he just never lets the audience down. Plus, if you are fed up with Valentine’s Day, it's a great program to hear him lamenting on the futility of relationships. Original (English) audio, Hungarian subtitles.
8pm: Woes, Lifesick, Chappa'ai, Exterminating Angel at AuróraWoes plays an intense mixture of hardcore, metal, and a blend of crust, up to sludgy outbursts in the vein of bands like the Psyke Project or Hexis! Lifesick blends modern modern and straightforward hardcore with some crust-y elements, and during their fierce live performances, they take no prisoners. They’ll be supported by two Hungarian bands; this won’t go down easy! This is an especially good program if you don't feel like celebrating Valentine’s Day.
