Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – exhibitions, markets, live music, festivals, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

7am: Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring If you are a Formula 1 fan and happen to be in Budapest in the middle of the summer, you shouldn’t miss the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix. The main race takes place on Sunday, July 26th, but qualifying runs are held on the two previous days.

11.30am - 11.30pm:

The flavors of the Provence-Alpes-Cőte d’Azur region
at Larus RestaurantDuring July 24-25 (Friday-Saturday)
, Larus Restaurant awaits guests with dishes of the gastronomical region of Provence-Alpes-Cőte d’Azur. Two menus, in an authentic and revised form – the dishes can be ordered separately or as a seven-course menu! Every day from 5pm, live guitar music accompanies the event. In good weather, the new terrace will be open for guests, as well.

6pm - 4am: kolor @ BVSC strand Volume 3 at BVSC PoolExperience a pool party hosted by kolor with local DJs, a minimal admission fee, and no bag checks – meaning that visitors can bring their own spirits! There will be pétanque and water polo, and an open barbecue for the meats and greens.

7pm - 4am: Rakéta Festival 2015 at Toldi, Vittula, Gólya, Beat On The Brat and A38 Ship Rakéta Festival 2015 is held in Budapest during July 20-26, featuring the young, upcoming, most exciting underground performers of the domestic music scene – in the hottest clubs of the city. Rakéta, held every year since 2012, is not only a free event starring the most of these performers, but this year’s festival also features the largest lineup and most locations so far. For the first time in the festival’s history, concerts and live acts will be held at two locations on some days. And as always, the festival is completely free!

9pm - 5am: Brutkó at WNDRLND A house and techno tour, easy to get through even on steeper terrain. Night exercise under the trees, untrodden paths, getting completely lost, daybreak…Saturday

10am - 2am: Pool&Beer 3 x Einfach Berlin x Budapest Secret Cinema at Vituki Pool Music from noon until dawn, pool, thermal water, cold drinks, several buffets, juicy, soccer, sauna, locker rooms, rubber duck, központjónás, mangopapa, martinaudio = endless summer.

noon - 5pm: Gardrób at Szimpla The Gardrób Community Market is Budapest’s biggest secondhand clothes and accessory fair, where ordinary people sell their stuff they have outgrown or have become bored of. As of spring 2015, the main Gardrób event on Király Street is not the only place for treasure hunters – Szimpla Kert also awaits market-goers with selected pieces.
2pm - 6am: Bladerunnaz BBQ with A.M.C. & Disaszt at Dürer Kert Founded in 1998, the Bladerunnaz group was created with the aim of bringing drum and bass, the most musically forward dance-music genre of the time, to Hungary. Bladerunnaz has grown with the genre, and by now has become the leading promoter in drum-and-bass events, and one of the biggest organizing groups on the Hungarian electronic dance music scene. This will be a musical audience meeting and barbecue from the afternoon with the founding DJs and a party starring A.M.C. in the evening.

2pm - 5am: HI!FLY Presents Cid Inc, Marcelo Vasami, Pole Folder at ZIPP Club The organizers prepare a special event at the end of July, much to the delight of progressive house fans. After his performance last May at LÄRM, many awaited Argentina’s Marcelo Vasami to return – and he does, straight from Buenos Aires, along with the South American progressive tracks that we love so much!
11pm - 2am: Safair All Night Long at Tesla.kertSaturday night it’s Monkey6-time with Safair, who will play his heat-packed summer house collection in the .garden, all night long!
Sunday

10am - 1pm: Yogawave at A38 ShipEasy hatha flow with an energetic music in the background set especially for this place and occasion. The class is led by yoga teacher Júlia Halmos. Something rejuvenating for the last day of the week.

1pm - 10pm: Sunday Garden – Subotage 30 at Dürer KertSunshine, grilled goods, ice-cold beer, chilling in the shadows, table tennis – if you are looking for the perfect Sunday brunch, this is just your thing. Trendsetting Hungarian DJs will keep the good vibrations groovin’, and you can even rent a grilling spot to prepare a hearty lunch with your friends!

2pm - 10pm: Lay-Up! – Sryup.hu Label Night at Corvintető Kosmische musik for afternoon chilling: don’t dance but sit down on a sofa and let the music take you to a whole new galaxy – the soundtrack will be made of deep house, pulsing dubtechno, acid, and ambient. Your ears will surely love it and let's not forget that every Lay-Up! comes with real eye-candy visuals. A laid-back way to spend the last day of the week.
3pm - 6pm:

FessNeki
at AkváriumPaint like your favorite famous painter, like Van Gogh, Klimt, or Monet, and discover the creativity inherent in you! The FessNeki team is putting on a special summer event. FessNeki is about having fun and freely creating art as a member of a community. Why not organize a special date or meet some new people, since there’s no way you can ruin your painting, and what’s even better is that you need no previous training or skill to accomplish this.
