Prezi, famous for its cloud-based presentation software, recently introduced a new application, Nutshell, which creates a small video message using as few as three photos or videos, and some add-ons like text and graphics. This might just be the new craze.

The idea for Nutshell came after the developers of Prezi realised that many people used Prezi’s zoom-able presentation canvas for sharing various events like birthdays, road trips and even marriage proposals (!!). After all, it is easy to insert pictures, videos, texts and graphics onto the infinite “canvas” that can easily tell a flowing story. These Prezis provided the inspiration for the development of Nutshell, with which we can share bits and pieces of our life easily - even from our iPhone or iPad.

To use Nutshell, users have to snap three photos or short videos, which the application forms into a short video message. This sequence can be spruced up with silly graphics and text creating what's basically a mini-movie. The end result can be shared through e-mail and text message, as well as the usual social media sites like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

“Nutshell is exactly what its name implies: an epic story condensed into the space of a moment,” explains Ádám Somlai-Fischer, co-founder and artistic director of Prezi. While co-founder and CEO of Prezi, Péter Árvai adds:

"Nutshell is part of our mission to help people share their ideas in a more engaging way." The App is free to download from the App Store and goes by the name "Nutshell Camera”.
