Our weekly guide to the upcoming weekend includes where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed on 16 - 18 January. There's always so much to choose from in Budapest: exhibitions, markets, live music, festivals, performances and more! But here is our pick of the bunch, our highlights for the weekend ahead:

Ciprian Mureşan's exhibition

All weekend, 10am - 6pmLudwig MuseumCiprian Mureşan appropriates historical, social and cultural references (essentially artistic, literary and cinematographic), which he re-contextualises. He analyses the mechanisms of cultural diffusion; the ambivalent, if not contrary relationships between memories of recent history and those of actual experience, in addition to the relationships between political power, religious power, and civil society. This exhibition at Ludwig Museum deals with history, religion and art using simple gestures and methods from popular culture with the same quasi-expiatory manner, while restoring the importance of personal experience and expression. More to be read at our event page.
