On Sunday, Budapest gained a new piece of outdoor art – this statue of a huge man emerging from some subterranean realm. Created in affiliation with Art Market Budapest, the installation represents the appearance of contemporary art on the streets, and is scheduled to remain on display through this week.

The bizarre and huge sculpture, titled “Feltépve” (“Ripped up”), is the work of “polihysteric art designer” Ervin Loránth Hervé, who told VS.hu that he was supposed to finish the installation two days earlier, but unfortunately, this plan failed because of the uneven ground and other external circumstances. He added that the sculpture is made out of polystyrene and is absolutely selfie-compatible, so he would be glad to see pictures of it circulating in social media.
