FridayBudapest Shuffle Volume 6 @ Fogasház, 22:00.
"The carbon Audemar, that's a whole 'nother metal, but still keep it ghetto!" – that's how Pusha T rolled in
"Trouble On My Mind", and you should also know: no matter how rich you are, stay true to your roots, because the coolest music still comes from the ghetto. Here is a party to prove that.
Trap, twerk, footwork, juke, hip-hop – these are just a few genres that this party pays tribute to. The well-known disc jockeys of Budapest Shuffle have a vinyl collection full of the best stuff that various musicians produced in the aforementioned styles. Who will be the masters of the ceremony, you ask? Busa Pista and MC Kemon (both familiar from Irie Maffia) will spit the rhymes and Future, Mr. Mstrs, and E.L.O. will do the scratching, shuffling, and mixing. Straight Outta Budapest!
Casino Bangkok Special: Bart Skils @ Corvintető, 22:00.
Holland’s most respected techno DJ, whose sets are cheered by every fan of the genre, is coming to Budapest again to give us a hint about how to make a crowd go mad with two turntables and loads of good music.
All releases and remixes of Bart Skils for Drumcode, 100% Pure, Cocoon, and Rejected are internationally rated as some of the most cutting-edge dance tracks to come out of Holland in recent years, and his legendary club night, Voltt, is still widely regarded as one of the leading events in Amsterdam’s internationally acclaimed club scene. So, to sum things up, the star of Bart Skils is still shining bright, but that shouldn't be a surprise: he moves effortlessly from deep house to banging techno, and since he spent most of his life in clubs, he knows how to work the dance floor.UH Fest – Lorenzo Senni, Wilhelm Bras, Dungeon Acid, The Stanley Maneuver DJ set, Galactic Jackson & Gördön DJ set @ Toldi, 22:30.
Modular synthesizers, rhythmic dance threads, the rave culture of '90s raw acid Afro techno, introspective dance music, and emotional tension.
Wilhelm Bras incorporates rhythmic dance threads into a coarse, avant-garde fabric by means of homemade analogue instruments, such as noodles and glitches sourced from his living-and-breathing electronics.
Lorenzo Senni creates an amazing deconstruction of sound and rave culture of the '90s; his work explores the idea of the “buildup” found in euphoric dance music as a starting point to make a piece that is less uplifting but more introspective, implicitly preserving its emotional tension and drama. Dungeon Acid uses analogue synthesizers, drum machines, and effects to improvise raw acid Afro techno.
Signal & A38 Present: Octoberfest – Dublic, Mira Joo, Gerysson, Majestik, Chris.Su @ A38 Ship, 23:00.

Five DJs, five different genres: the twin brothers behind Dublic love everything that involves bass, be it dubstep, trap, twerk, juke, or moomhbahton. Majestik is into booty-funk, while DJ Gerysson prefers hip-hop and turntablism. Chris.Su is one of the most well-known drum 'n' bass producers, not just domestically, but internationally – the biggest names in the world of amen breaks spin his releases, and he already opened for some of them.SaturdayGardrób's Thrift Shop Community & Common Market @ Central Passage, 11:00.
Bring your old too-big-too-small clothes, and maybe somebody will buy them, making the day brighter for everyone.
"One man's trash, that's another man's come-up!" – such is the wisdom of Macklemore's famous song. That's what this day is all about: finding your new favorite clothes for a cheap price, selling old duds, buying something for those you love, and having fun. Meanwhile, Common Market offers a wide variety of healthy food, honey, jam, meats, and spices. This is about local farmers who bring food, vegetables, fruits, and everything else – all without manipulated gens, artificial additions, or anything like that.Japanese Film Week:
The Kirishima Thing @ Toldi, 19:00.
Backed by a superb cast, Daihachi Yoshida's brilliant ensemble piece plays like an affectionately distanced version of Clueless.
In Daihachi Yoshida’s quietly brilliant ensemble piece, the social dynamics of a Japanese high school are laid out in almost topographical terms, the camera moving through various cliques, clubs, and enclaves in ever-changing patterns. A single piece of unsettling news — that Kirishima, the school’s acknowledged leader and star athlete, has suddenly quit the volleyball team — sends shock waves throughout the student body, creating intersecting ripples that touch everyone. Playing like an affectionately distanced, zen version of Clueless, the film garnered the Japanese Academy’s picture and director awards, though its superb, sprawling cast of uniform-clad actors may pose some initial confusion for foreign audiences. Noise, industrial, power electronics, dark ambient, dub, techno, hypnotic acid, and a lot more.
Puce Mary explores the corners of noise, industrial, power electronics, and more composed sound collages, along with dark ambient. With her unforgettable live performances, she creates a sensual and elegant yet crushingly powerful fusion of human voice and machine noise. The music of Ekoplekz is rooted in '70s industrial music, but the further layers of dub, techno, noise, and minimal analogue electronics make his sounds unique and inimitable. Wedding Acid Group presents visceral, playful, and hypnotic live acid from Újpest, one of Budapest's working-class districts. Reverential and offbeat, the road-trip film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee takes emotional detours, and is elevated by great performances, particularly that of Robin Wright.
From all outward appearances, Pippa Lee (Robin Wright) leads a charmed existence. She is the devoted wife of an accomplished publisher 30 years her senior, the proud mother of two grown children, and a trusted friend and confidant to all who cross her path. But as Pippa dutifully follows her husband to a new life in a staid Connecticut retirement community, her idyllic world and the persona she has built over the course of her marriage will be put to the ultimate test. In truth, looks are deceiving, and this picture-perfect woman has seen more than her fair share of turmoil in her youth.
