Welcome to We Love Budapest's weekly guide to the weekend: here's where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed.

FridayRakéta Festival - Live Electronics Day @ Kontra Club, 20:00.
As part of the Rakéta Fesztivál 2014, Kontra Klub presents Live Electronics Day, featuring the best newcomers and ones to watch in experimental electronic music.

In our article about the Rakéta Festival, we shared what you can expect: Jacques Kustod has been reviewed by the iconic The Wire. Called madness by the music magazine, the producer’s sci-fi psychedelia was born from his love for modular synthesizers, vintage analogue devices, and mutant techno soundscapes. Added to the live performance, visual artist Chaosdroid complements the audiovisual experience.

S. Olbricht (founder of the famous Hungarian label, Farbwechsel) and Route 8 joined forces under the moniker Ste Pwri Tmod for some electro craziness generated live by analogue synths and drum machines.
Lanuk is the solo project of the bassist for the free punk band, derTANZ – he plays noise improvisations.
Modeo plays industrial infused asymmetric techno.
Utero walks on the more abstract side of electronic soundscapes, mixing noisy ambient music with field recordings.
Alley Catss is noise-music prodigy from Székesfehérvár; he recently released a split album with S. Olbricht at the cultic Opal Tapes label.
Kuro is about abstract black techno.

Rewind Special - Drum Session featuring Balázs Pándi @ Corvintető, 22:00.
The next episode in one of the longest ongoing party series, focusing on drum 'n' bass, dubstep, trap and hip-hop – this time with the most famous Hungarian monkey drummer, Balázs Pándi.

Balázs Pándi ranks among the most famous Hungarian drummers of all time, having played with Thurston Moore, KK Null, Merzbow and Otto von Schirach, and as part of bands like Obake or The Blood Of Heroes. While DJ Palotai, Zosha and Cadik will spin the vinyls and MC Zeek will spit the words, he will play on his beloved instrument – we can only wonder what. Everything can happen from sonic terror to hip-hop with live drums and rhymes. One thing is sure: you won't see something like this for a long time, with such talented disc jockeys who know everything about the aforementioned styles: both their roots and the freshest hits. So no excuses this time!EINFACH BERLIN Opening Session: Dodorinho, Marcel Freigeist, Alexander Lorz, Bergi @ Aquarium, 23:00.
Imagine a city within a city, and now imagine it with Berlin and Budapest: yes, Einfach Berlin is here again for the kind of fun that includes exhibitions, roundtable discussions, garage sales and, yes, parties.

Marcel "Freigeist" Kape, born in West Berlin, has always had a love affair with creating his own sound, but it would be a little while until he would discover and devote himself to the techno subculture. He started as a hip-hop head, and it wasn't until 2006 that he started to discover techno. Nowdays, he is into deep house and techno, and behind the decks, his ultimate goal is to blend together his greatest loves that is, to bring hip-hop and other ends of the musical spectra together with techno and house to create a harmonious cocktail, one that we haven't seen on any menu before. Bergi is a legendary Hungarian DJ who is active for years, and one of the founders of the Monkey6

DJ collective. Dodorinho and Alexander Lorz will also play!Boat Party - DJ Budai & Tommyboy @ Hunyadi Ship, 23:00.

There is nothing like enjoying the moment, when the pumping tech-house kicks in, while floating on the Danube. If you miss this feeling, this is your party: a big boat, thousands of party hooligans, two DJs that know everything about the aforementioned style that have played it since its beginning – and the Danube. DJ Budai and Tommyboy (who is one half of the famous deep-house act Crazibiza) will work that dance floor until the sun comes up.SaturdayHalott Pénz & Friends - Charity Gig For Bátor Tábor @ A38 Ship, 18:30.

If you were wondering what can you do to make the world a better place, here's a tip for you.Dream Theater @ Budapest Park, 18:30.
The biggest name in progressive rock with musicians considered to be the amongst the best on their instrument, aka Dream Theater, is coming to Budapest – again.

Dream Theater fixture James LaBrie’s supernaturally compelling and instantly identifiable vocals soar within the framework of Petrucci’s unmistakable guitar wizardry, and steadfast co-founder John Myung’s rhythmic yet brightly expressive bass playing. The keyboard and atmospheric work of multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rudess has become essential and integral to Dream Theater’s sound, while formidable and near-unbelievable drum giant Mike Mangini pounds a territorial stamp upon the album, his second since joining the band in 2010. Their latest, self-titled album came out last year, but they will surely play songs from older classics like "Images And Words" or "Train Of Thought".LCTD Booking Presents: Siberian Meat Grinder, P.F.A., Crippled Fox, Just Because @ Kontra Club, 20:30.
Skate-trash-punk explosion, now with a free headkick! If you want to get your face ripped off by a bunch of crazy Russian musicians, don't hesitate. This will be brutal.

Siberian Meat Grinder are a thrash metal band from the cold, harsh depths of Russia. They are clearly influenced by bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Blessed By A Broken Heart and Municipal Waste, but they are a lot more than a tribute band: they combine maniac energy with catchiness, crust-punk, hardcore trash, and an intensity that turns every concert venue into a huge mosh pit. Their concerts are clearly not for everybody, but if you are into the aforementioned bands and/or styles, you surely need to go and get your ass kicked. Before them, the best Hungarian trash bands will play, just to make sure that you are ready for the Russian madness. Harm starts here.S*10 & EINFACH BERLIN Present: 4th Floor Party - Figub Brazlevic, MC Soulcat E-Phife, Vanis, DJ Slow, Mr. Mstrs & Fantomaz @ Hotel Nomuri, 21:00.

The last day of the Hungarian SXSW comes with even more great Hungarian bands and styles, ranging from wrestling punk-rock to doll metal.

A punk-rock band named after a Canadian professional wrestler bear? Yes, that is the coolest thing when it comes to band names. After Terrible Ted defeated Sam Bass, he reincarnated as a punk-rock supergroup, with members from bands like Haunebu, Tumo, Broken Cups, Summer Schatzies, or Románia.

Gustave Tiger is also a supergroup playing music that could be best described as "a band that is signed to Captured Tracks plays the music of Wire".
Tumo is into the hardcore-punk music of the '80s and the noise-rock of the '90s. Angry, hard-hitting and lo-fi: it can easily break your neck. If you like the Libertines or the Strokes, you should check out
The Adolescens: hot guys play trendy guitar-rock.
Ann My Guard is the first band in Hungary to play doll metal: like Avril Lavigne on a metal diet. But if you think aboutGarbage, Courtney Love's Hole, or the Pretty Reckless, you are still on the right track.Resurrection, Owndisorder, Limbless, Sunset, Slave Strikes Back @ Showbarlang, 20:00.
Fast and agressive metalcore and progressive modern metal from (non-)Hungarian bands.

Resurrection (not to be confused with the Christian rock band) play fast and agressive metalcore. They shared the stage with bands like I Am Heresy or Stick To Your Guns, and have already been to Hungary for two times, so they really know how to fire up the local audience. Owndisorder carries the torch of fast and chaotic metal that manages to remain catchy.

Limbless plays progressive metal, while Slave Strikes Back plays a chaotic blend of hardcore and metalcore. Sunset is a real treat for lovers of energetic and melodic punk rock.
