Waves of sound spread across the twilight-streaked Danube during Budapest's annual Sun Goes Down "mini-festival", one of summertime's paramount parties of Hungary's electronic-music scene. Beginning well before nightfall on Friday, this grooving gathering is held amid three outdoor stages on Margaret Island, an ideal location for stumbling upon hidden treasures. Lighting up the stellar scene, internationally renowned DJs Booka Shade, Klangkarussell, and Dominik Eulberg are headlining, along with a lineup of top local music mixers all shining bright till 6am.

The longest sunset
With the theme "Are you ready for the year's longest sunset?" there's no doubt that Sun Goes Down will have you up all night. Back for the fifth year with an electric festival atmosphere and a mix of DJs

from across Europe and Hungary,

this year's bash starts

at 6pm and

offers a rare chance for

Budapest's

electronic music lovers to see Booka Shade in a concert setting beginning

at 9pm, followed by

Dominik Eulberg and

Klangkarussell . Organizers expect approximately 2,500 carousers to pop up at

this nightlong

rave, and they promise a more intimate atmosphere than

many of the rowdier

large-scale

festivals happening in Hungary this summer. Here is a preview of what to expect from the evening's brightest stars:

Booka Shade

If you think that machines don't have soul, you haven't listened to Booka Shade yet. Beautiful melodies, thumping beats, solid grooves, unique synth basses, and a blend of techno, house and everything in between. And we haven't even talked about their dancefloor bangers like Darko or Mandarine Girl yet. The duo of Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger released their latest album "Eve" a year ago, but instead of promoting that, Booka Shade is coming to Hungary to help you get physical. This is the freshest sound out of Berlin, from two musicians who shaped that city's music scene.Dominik Eulberg

Part of the new generation of cutting-edge DJ/producers, Germany's Dominik Eulberg studies biology and geography, and sometimes works as a national park ranger while producing some very exceptional music. As illustrated by 2004's "Flora & Fauna" release and his "Diorama" album in 2011, his music and life are closely linked to nature. A walk in the woods – this is Dominik Eulberg's inspiration for exciting music, because "there you never know what is expecting you behind the next junction". In the forest, every rustle of leaves or snap of a branch can turn into a hookline. Every single sound is important, and endows the tracks with the vitality needed on the dance floor . If you don't believe it, attend this year's Sun Goes Down and see for yourself!Klangkarussell

Klangkarussell is a feel-good example of two rebellious high-school friends who met each other for a beer after a 'long time no see'. Apparently on the same page about music, they started producing tunes and soon nailed down their musical chemistry into what's now their third production 'Sonnentanz'. The song made the cut at clubs and on the radio, and started their career with a blast. Of course the hit made it on their first album, "Netzwerk", on which they worked with artists like Adam Freeland and Will Heard.
