Zöld Pardon has confirmed that according to plans it will reopen at the north side of the Buda foot of Rákóczi Bridge (former Lágymányosi Bridge) on 20 April 2012. At the opening night of the new site the Magna Cum Laude will give a concert.

“The story of Zöld Pardon will go on because it has to go on.” – thus were the closing words of Zöld Pardon’s last season in fall 2011 at Goldmann György tér. The period since abounded in rumors about the fate of ZP, which were dissolved as follows:

”The demonstration of sympathy in September drew attention to the fact that there’s a need for Zöld Pardon and many would like a continuation. So it was obvious for us to find a new venue.” – said Zsuzsanna Kővári, CEO of Zöld Pardon Kft. at the press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

A main factor when choosing the new site was that owners and employees had to feel that ZP belongs to Újbuda. This was justified by the people when they voted the 11th district by far the best place for ZP on the internet.

Although the owners still believe that the perfect venue for Zöld Pardon is the area by Petőfi Bridge. Of course, the Buda foot of Rákóczi Bridge, the site promised by the local government, could also prove to be a fine spot for ZP’s new life.

A new bus service is planned that will take guests between ZP and the stop of non-stop trams no. 4 and 6 for 100 HUF. The “Zöld kártya” (green card) program for guests under 14 and 18 will be available in the future, too, not unlike the 400-HUF tickets on every day of the week. Zöld Pardon aims to strengthen their Hungarian repertoire but also invite numerous performers from abroad, too, such as Steven Marley, Bob Marley’s son.

As a result of all, the new Zöld Pardon will hopefully find its place among the recreational and entertainment amenities of Kopaszi Dam nearby and the new mecca of the younger audience in Budapest will be a success.
