The biggest Chinese eatery in Budapest, the Taiwan Restaurant has been operating since 1991. It lies deep in District IX, way from the city centre, near Nagyvárad tér metro station. The restaurant lists various Asian specialities, such as Peking duck, sweet and sour soup and fresh seafood options. This is a higher level of Chinese gastronomy, reflected in the quality and prices compared to the many fast-food outlets in the area.
