Between the 8th and 9th of November, the
Museum of Applied Arts
will be transformed into a real dessert salon. By holding the first
SütniCake Pastry and Cake Festival (Exhibition and Fair)
, the organizers would like to create an event to present the products and creative works of Hungary’s best confectioneries and pastry chefs. The theme of the first SütniCake will be Alice in Wonderland.

The concept of the SütniCake Pastry and Cake Festival was born from the lack of
pastry
and
cake
-focused gastronomical events in Hungary. Nearly
30 exhibitioners
will take part in the festival, including the greatest Hungarian confectioneries and new, smaller artisan confectionery manufactures. The exhibitioners were all invited officially, so only the best get the chance to represent themselves. The organizers intent to make the event into the number one pastry and cake festival of the country, traditionally organized every year.

In addition to traditional sweets,
cupcakes
,
tartlets
,
brownies
,
cake pops
,
macarons
and
cakes
will await the sweet-toothed visitors, either for tasting or buying. The theme of the first SütniCake will be Alice in Wonderland.

The cake design competition of the confectioners is also related to this topic. A day before the event, a prestigious jury will choose the winning cake of SütniCake, as well. The best works submitted to the
Cake Design competition
will be exhibited during the entire festival.

On the Gastro Stage, we can expect some spectacular demonstrations from
gastro bloggers
, who will let in the audience on a few secret techniques. The exhibitors will await visitors with various programs and demonstrations, as well. There will be a cake decorating contest, sugar lace and caramel decoration making,
macaron
and
bonbon
making presentations, and marzipan workshop for the children.  The programs also include a special exhibition of the Museum of Applied Arts, in which they will exhibit confectionery tools and items from the turn of the century.
