Last autumn, the first Budapest Pig Slaughter Feast and
Sausage Festival
organized in the park of the
Hungarian Railway Museum
was received with unexpected enthusiasm, which soon proved that the festival originally dreamed up with the aim of becoming a regular spectacle does have a following in the capital city. The 3-day happening attracted thousands of people, who came out to sample delectable pork products and sausage delicacies.
Following last year’s success, there was no question about the festival being organized once again in 2015. This October Budapest’s new
gastro
festival awaits visitors with traditional activities and culinary treats at a unique location, the 10-hecatre park of the
Hungarian Railway Museum
. The festival will feature an attempt to set a
Guiness
world record – details wil be released at a later point.

The organizers of the event amassed a wealth of experience at the first festival, and based on the feedback received from visitors, they’ll introduce countless new features in 2015. More reasonably priced tickets, tickets for senior citizens, two
Sausage Streets
, a new Pig Slaughter Street and more on 16-18 October 2015.

Thanks to the free
“Sausage Festival bus”
transporting visitors between Nyugati Railway Station and the railway history park throughout the duration of the event, everyone will be able to taste pálinka without having to worry about getting home safe.

Naturally, festivalgoers from outside Budapest are not overlooked either: those travelling on the trains of MÁV or the busses of Volán are eligible for a 50% discount on their tickets – all they have to do is get them stamped at one of the festival’s box offices.
