The masters of folk art
are returning to the
Buda Castle
for the 28
th
time, and will most certainly fetch the visitors with their outstanding skills again. This year the much-loved family festival, the Festival of Folk Arts will welcome its guests for five days, so the fun will last from
Saturday 16th August to the 20th
when the great fireworks take place in the evening.

This summer the main theme of the programme will be
metallurgy
, and in this context there will be great focus on the
representatives
of professions, such as
smiths
,
cutlers
,
armourers
,
goldsmiths
,
braziers
,
enamels
,
tinkers
,
bell-founders
and
plumbers
, and like that the presence of tin soldiers, embroidery with metalized yarn and shoed eggs is obvious but also fascinating. As metallurgy includes many ancient male crafts, in course of the demonstrations in workshop, guests will have the chance to see the beating out of iron, damascening, creation of medals and in the barbershop the blades of real razor makers will be used. To be true to the
traditions

exhibitions
,
professional

presentations
and screenings will be responsible for making the festival even more enjoyable, and of course amazing dance ensembles, bands and artist will also perform on two stages during the five days of the programme.

This year – even if only for five days but the
Turkish

crescent
moon could once again be placed on the Buda Castle, as the
special guest
of this year’s festival will be Turkey. They are excited and the best craftsmen are preparing to blow people’s mind with their jewelry, carpets and textiles at the summer exhibition in Hungary. The organizer of the festival, the
Folklore Associations
will make sure that beside the regular events the artisan
gastronomy
, photo exhibitions and many other attractions will amuse the visitors. Not only children and senior tickets are available for purchasing as well in advance and at site but also family tickets.
