There are almost 140 grape varieties making up 22 historic wine regions. The more than 200 wineries at the Wine Festival represent all Hungarian wine regions, and most varieties. Thanks to their themed wine-walks, those who are less confident in their knowledge of Hungarian wines can find their way around, too. It is their goal to help their guests explore as many tastes and flavours as they can during the festival.

The
guest
of honour of the 2014 Wine Festival is
Italy
and with its excellent wines, and of course, its remarkable cuisine. The usual location for the guest country, the Bonfini Garden will be presenting tastes of Italy. With the help of
nU Bisztro
, the atmosphere will be real Italian cool in
Osteria Barilotto
("little barrel tavern" - Stand no.: 141), with antipasti, freshly baked bread, top quality traditional hams and cheeses, risotto, fish and shellfish.

The Wine Festival is also about
Hungarian

gastronomy
. We are preparing with a diverse, colourful selection, welcoming new exhibitors as well. In the Lion Courtyard the
Country’s Kitchen (Országkonyha)
(Stand no.: 198) will make sure that no one remains hungry before, after and during whites from Balaton and reds from Szekszard. As usual, the menu will celebrate harvest, reimagining traditional dishes and reviving long forgotten ones.
Gerbaud
 (Stand no.: 200) and the

Szarvasgomba Világa (“World of Truffles”)
(Stand no.: 141) will add more sweet flavour to the Lion Courtyard. Gerbaud prepares a surprise every year, and the World of Truffles will continue the tradition - started last year - of offering real gourmet dishes based on truffles.
