A shower curtain depicting the splendid swimming pool of Gellért Bath, a hat shaped like the Parliament’s dome, Tinder-style postcards, a collection of fridge magnets that combine to make up a Budapest apartment block, a lace screensaver that sweeps Hungarian grandmothers off their feet (as they use them to cover everything around the house), shot glasses that portray the future as together they depict a guy passed out on a couch, and many other funky memorabilia are found in this new cool and creative series of keepsakes that surely shakes up the city’s current souvenir selection.

The designer of EggMap – a rubber stress ball covered with a map of Budapest – is working on a new creative project now, crafting unique souvenirs for the country’s visitors that truly let them take a piece of Hungary home with them, while reforming the current mainstream selection of memorabilia available in Budapest. HunCut’s products aim to present “cut-out” parts of Hungary’s culture to the country’s visitors in a new funky form, showing them local characteristics in a truly unique way.

The city’s postcard superstars, such as Gellért Bath, the Liberty Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, trams, and the Parliament, as well as chimney cake (a Hungarian sugar-dusted pastry), manhole covers, traditional ceramic patterns, prominent paintings, and reeds that recall Lake Balaton’s atmosphere are all found amid the creative designs of HunCut’s new-wave collection. The items of HunCut will soon be available for purchase – follow their website for more information – but until then, check out the photos of these designs below and try picturing them in your home.
