Everyone is welcome to enter an open competition that is now accepting proposals to create the official design for Hungary’s bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The first-place submission will automatically receive a cash prize of one million forints, along with the right to design the athletic extravaganza’s complete brand identity.

In October, Budapest – along with Los Angeles, Paris, and Rome – officially entered the competition for the right to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The winning country will be chosen in 2017, but before then, the Hungarian Olympic Committee, in partnership with Design Terminal and with the support of Magyar Telekom, is announcing an open competition for the design of the basic brand elements of the Budapest Olympic bid.

The competition is open to everyone over 18 years old, and one entrant can submit more than one plan. When designing the imagery, the competitors have to pay attention to modernity, clarity, easy recognition, dynamism, and elegance. Addition keywords have been provided, such as: pride, courage, future, and innovation. Furthermore, the logo cannot resemble any previous Olympic symbol.

The jury panel will select a winner and two runners-up, while an audience-choice award winner will also be chosen. The first-place submission will receive a cash prize of 1,000,000 forints, and also win the Hungarian Olympic Committee’s commission to design the complete brand identity of the Budapest bid. The runners-up and the audience-choice winner will receive 250,000 forints.
Submissions must be sent to the e-mail address

in PDF format.
Submission deadline: January 15th.
