Budapest’s nightlife is a tough market, and because all folks involved want a slice from the big cake, everyone is trying to come up with something unique. Of course, not all venues can be successful, but you can bump into pleasant surprises from time to time. Csipesz Bár is one of the promising spots, being characterized by a friendly environment, pretty girls behind the bar, and a great location.

You’ll probably be a regularThe word of Csipesz’s existence is traveling around Budapest at a dazzling speed. However, they have only been officially open for a couple of weeks, and the place already gets crowded every night with those looking to get their well-deserved intoxication between trendy Spíler and cheap Caesar Pub. This is the place where we would like to call ourselves regulars on account of the good location, the barmaids, the wallet-friendly prices, and the cliché-free atmosphere.

Csipesz is like the island of chill-outs in the middle of the stormy sea of hardcore parties while, of course, not lacking the excitement that you would expect out of a bar. The most glaring difference is that at Csipesz, there are less self-appointed DJs and critics, while the price range, the quality, and your fellow benders are in perfect harmony with one another. Having fun is a possibility even if you’re all by yourself.

As for music, you can expect the following: first of all, it won’t tear your eardrums, thanks to all the party-killers in the neighborhood. The playlist consists of several genres, being made up of songs from The Black Keys, Tame Impala, Asap Rocky, Jay-Z, Bonobo, Waldeck, Toro y Moi, and even a drop of psychedelic rock. Live music is provided by DJs.

The most important part: the drinksFortunately, the drink selection is just as great and varied as the music repertoire and the crowd of guests frequenting Csipesz. On the drink list, there are rums (for example: Havana - 580HUF/4cl, Captain Morgan - 580 HUF/4cl), vodkas (for example: Russian Standard - 580 HUF/4cl, Finlandia - 480 HUF/4cl), whiskeys (for example: Jim Beam - HUF /4cl, Chivas Regal - 920 HUF/4cl), long drinks (for example: Tequila Sunrise - 990 HUF, Pina Colada - 990HUF) Somersby cider (490 HUF), and a lot more.

Moreover, you can satisfy your hunger with several snacks, sandwiches, and grill delicacies, all offered at prices easy on your pocket.

What’s Csipesz?Csipesz means clip. The name originates from an inside joke that an outsider could not really appreciate, so we won’t waste your time trying to explain it. What’s more interesting is that clips of various sizes can function as cutting-edge designe elements – including lamps and a 2-meter-large giant serving as a guiding light that makes finding Csipesz a child’s game even in the labyrinth of venues known as Gozsdu-udvar (Gozsdu Courtyard).

The futureOne of the most important goals for Csipesz is to avoid becoming a copycat of trendy venues. Its uniqueness is in great hands (or rather minds), being orchestrated by a team of brainstormers who already have a plethora of plans for the imminent winter. Cold weather will come in handy for the terrace-lacking Csipesz, since movie nights, exhibitions, and rock’n roll are about to take over the place.
