The first Hard Rock Café opened in London in 1971, and by today its present in every major city in the world. The restaurant’s Budapest department decided to celebrate its 42nd birthday with cheaper burgers and special music.

London, 1971

Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton opened the first Hard Rock Café in London on the 14th of June in 1971 in order to make some awesome burgers. The innocent, little restaurant later appeared in Los Angeles too in 1982 and so the HardRockEmpire was born.

Today they are present in 55 countries with more than 170 venues and they are not just restaurants; 15 HardRockHotels and HardRockCasinos operate as well.

The collection

The idea, and therefore the interior, was completely different back in the days, but in 1979 something changed, and rock relics started to appear on the walls. The first of them was Eric Clapton’s red guitar that marked the artist’s always reserved seat in the restaurant.

The collection today includes about 74 000 pieces, among them Michael Jackson’s Beat it jacket and Madonna’s Like a Virgin wedding dress.Hard Rock's own clothes are similarly iconic nowadays: about 40% of the guests don’t even want to eat anything, they only walk in to buy something.

Their famous Hard Rock
T-shirt was invented only by accident in 1974 when they decided to sponsor a local football team. The restaurant as a kind gesture gave away the extra clothes to their regulars, and then the rush began, and it’s still on today.

Budapest, 2011

Hard Rock Café Budapest opened in 2011 at Vörösmarty tér - Váci utca corner. The 1100 square meter place has 220 seats a RockShop, and a live music stage and of course the Hungarian capital got lots of unique relics as well: we have Jenis Joplin’s wallet, Slash’s vest, Michael Jackson’s hat, Lenny Kravitz’s guitar, Mick Jagger’s suit.
As to the food, guest can have the HardRockLegendaryBurger, Smokehouse delicacies and Hickory Bar-B-Que.

Happy Birthday Hard Rock Café

Hard Rock celebrates its 42nd birthday on the 14th of June and for the important occassion the Budapestrestaurant prepared with cheaper Legendery 6oz burgers (1971 HUF instead of 3000 HUF), special 70s costumes and music from the 70s.

And since Hard Rock has always supported important human issues, they decided that on "Founders' Day" their famous burger will cost only 614 HUF for those, who has been fighting the flood in Budapest.
