The New York Palace is one of the most elegant buildings in Budapest. It was built in 1894, in a majestic, eclectic style, as commissioned by the New York Insurance Company. After the fall of socialism, the building was purchased by the Boscolo hotel chain, and later, in 2018 it became part of a new hotel brand called The Dedia Anthology. It is the region’s first luxury hotel, which is still among the most expensive hotels of the country.
The ground floor houses the former center of Hungarian literary life, the emblematic New York Café, which is a graceful, ornate café, embellished with hundreds of dreamy golden statues, decorations, frescoes and carved marble columns. Today, mainly tourists and business people come by here. If you can, drop by once for a cup of black coffee. It is a unique experience.
The interior of New York Palace is dominated by the harmony of classic and modern solutions. This can be observed in the spa as well, where the countless Swarovski crystals remind us of the atmosphere of an Alpine ice cave. The hotel’s spa section is equipped with a sauna, a Jacuzzi, and a relaxation pool, as well. The Spa welcomes members of the public too.
