The Róma Ételbár at Csalogány utca 20 is a classic Budapest spot. Echoing the Socialist era with delicious, simple and hearty Hungarian dishes, this eatery has earned its place in the hearts of locals and tourists, offering a trip back in time. Its predecessor was frequented by everyone from college students to politicians for over 30 years and, after a short break, the place has been revived by Dániel Andrusch. Luckily, the main concept of the original venue remains, and the new Róma Ételbár still offers traditional Hungarian dishes such as chicken soup with tarragon, cheese-and-ham-stuffed ribs with cucumber salad, and meaty cabbage. From time to time, guests can encounter the legendary former owner of the eatery, Cica, who likes to come by to help out.
