Standing beside the Puskás Ferenc Stadium, the Papp László Budapest SportArena (Arena) is the most modern sports facility in Central-Europe, hosting sporting events like ice hockey, basketball, handball, tennis and track and field. It is a venue for superproductions, the concerts of stars such as Lady Gaga or Coldplay. It is also suitable for conferences, exhibitions and assemblies. The building that was opened in 2003 is currently the largest indoor sports hall of Hungary, capable of seating 12 500. Its weight is equal to the total weight of Elizabeth Bridge plus Liberty Bridge. It also has its own application with information about the various programs, and which can be used to purchase and validate tickets. The Arena has been renamed after the Hungarian Olympic Champion boxer László Papp in 2004. It’s important to note that, starting from January 2018, we can only use cash to pay on the premises of the facility.

Tip: An András Wolf type food bar opened at the arena in February, 2018: we can eat delicious fried meets at the Séf Asztala outlet opposite sector 120 on the days of events, from when the gates open until they close.
