The story of Panelpék began in a small kitchen, found within an apartment complex in Soroksár, south Pest. Now, word about this bakery has spread, especially after it earned first prize at the Kenyérlelke Bread Festival, but their chocolate swirls also deserve a medal. József Cseperkáló now runs a much bigger bakery than when he started, but with the same mindset he has employed so far. His loaves and baguettes are still made using sourdough and, apart from the traditional white ones, there are wholemeal variations, spelt, rye, olive-tomato-and-onion and seeded breads. You won’t only find mouth-watering baked goods at the Soroksár store, as delicious deli items from organic producers, quails’ eggs, jams, cheeses, smoked meats, fruit and vegetables lining the shelves, too.

Tip: Panelpék products are also available at Wekerle market on Kossuth tér in District XIX, as well as at producer’s markets on Római-part in Óbuda and in Csepel.
