Despite its young age, the Örkény István Theater became a strong cultural hub of the capital: the repertory theater opened in 2004, and since then, it has produced its own distinctive features, including the papier mache troupe waving from the balcony. If you are looking for quality entertainment while desiring something new as well, head to Örkény! During the breaks between the acts, all age groups represent themselves here– from aesthetes smoking below the dancer statue at the entrance and season ticket-bearing old ladies in suits to “young people these days” –, looking for quality entertainment. Whether you would prefer a sad act or a hilarious drama: Örkény at Madách Square is definitely a great choice.
