Robert De Niro himself flew in to open this destination restaurant in the Kempinski hotel, a joint venture with chef Nobuyuki (‘Nobu’) Matsuhisa. With 40 such venues from Miami to Manila, De Niro and Nobu were originally reluctant to set up in Budapest due the lack of quality fresh fish in regular supply, a situation since resolved. Nobu’s signature dishes such as yellowtail sashimi and its famous black cod in miso showcase the Peruvian/Japanese fusion that made Nobu a hit with celebrities in Beverly Hills. Here in Budapest, look out for the Mix & Match lunch menu or the six-course Nobu Bento Box. Cocktails are also worth a perusal. Nobu can seat 56 guests at the bar and 81 guests in the restaurant, with a private room and a sushi bar.
