In April, a Hungarian book publisher, Magvető Kiadó unexpectedly opened a literary café in place of the independent theater workshop Hátsó Kapu, with the management of Krisztián Nyáry. Visitors can browse the publisher’s selection with a glass of wine or cup of coffee in the other hand, and expect a rich selection of cultural events from theatrical performances and book presentations to unconventional literature lessons and slam poetry evenings. The café is perfect for roundtable discussions, as well, and cleverly counterbalances the dazed ecstasy of the party district.
