Lara Café is a sweet breakfast spot – just a few steps away from Budapest’s Grand Boulevard – bringing warmth and a homely feel to the party district. It's tiny but charming and friendly, with warm colours, wooden surfaces, huge windows and plenty of green plants. There’s a long counter by the window with seats perfect for people-watching and round tables with a view to the open kitchen where all the magic happens. The menu features pretty much everything you’d expect from a breakfast place, including both sweet and savoury, as well as meaty and vegetarian options. There are hearty sandwichessalmon bagels, various croissantsegg dishes and even bowls topped with goat cheese, grilled chicken or smoked salmon. Those with a sweet tooth will also find something to their liking, thanks to waffles with Nutella, sweet French toast and cakes. The drink list includes freshly squeezed juicessmoothies, teas, soft drinks, and coffee (coming straight from their plantation in Ethiopia).

Tip: If you are after a laid-back burger spot, head to Chris Bar & Burger next door. The two places are owned by the same couple, Lara and Chris, so not only are the eateries side-by-side, but their owners also walk hand-in-hand in life, supporting each other's passion projects.
