The former haunt of Rezső Seress, composer of Hungary’s famous suicide song Gloomy Sunday, was revived by the staff of craft brewery Synthesis. The Kispipa Restaurant thus became a purveyor of unique ales but they also offer a lively cultural agenda. If you drop by for a beer or dinner, there’s a good chance that you’ll find a concert, a book launch, a presentation by an artist or some other event. The food is decent and affordable. Try, for example, their confit pork belly with apple purée, salty caramelised onion and cider reduction, or the fois de gras parfait in salt crust with celery cream and prunes.
