Tucked away on bustling Váci Street, IKONO Budapest brings something truly unique to the city's cultural scene – an immersive, interactive experience where you're not just looking at art, but stepping right into it.
This is not your typical museum visit. At IKONO, you can dive into a giant ball pit , get lost in a mirror maze , or even create your own light-based Picasso-style masterpiece . IKONO first opened in Madrid in 2020 and has since expanded across Europe to cities like Rome, Barcelona, Vienna, Copenhagen and Berlin. The Budapest venue – open since September 2023 – was created in collaboration, among others, with American visual artist Heather Bellino , whose thought-provoking installations encourage visitors to look beneath the surface, uncover hidden meanings, and lose themselves in a world of patterns and symbols.
