If you’re looking for authentic Chinese flavours, Kőbánya is your best bet. The HeHe restaurant is located near Népliget in Little China, set around the wholesale centre, the Monori Center. The people working in the Asian market are regulars – there couldn’t be a better recommendation – but the eatery has also been mentioned by American Eater magazine as one of Budapest’s bests. The ground floor has a street-food vibe, but if you prefer sitting, they have bigger tables on the second floor in two separate rooms. The menu features beef, pork, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes as well, prepared Szechuan style, roasted on an iron griddle, served with homemade noodles or cooked into a spicy soup. The food is ready in no time and bottled jasmine tea or a cold aloe vera drink goes with it perfectly.
