A temple to punk, metal and thrash alongside City Park, the Dürer Kert was once a boarding school run by French Sacré Coeur nuns, then used by top Communist Party leaders for swimming and relaxation. Comprising a main hall, a smaller one, Room 041 and a pebbled garden, the DK can accommodate reasonably large crowds when it comes to festivals and communal events. Mostly, though, it’s a solid live venue. In summer, its waterfront sibling, Dürer Part, operates at Lupa Beach, at Budakalász just outside Budapest.
