One of the main centres of Budapest’s local live-music scene is the Budapest Jazz Club, set in a vintage cinema in District XIII. Often listed among the best venues in renowned magazine, DownBeat, the BJC has seen Ravi Coltrane, Stacey Kent, Joshua Redman and Lonnie Smith grace its stage. The club also gives a platform to young talent, hosts several of Hungary’s main jazz events and its friendly café and restaurant are a great place to hang out before a concert.
