Brat’s not dead! That is to say, the spirit of the old Beat On The Brat, a former alternative-music club in deepest Pest, now lives on in Frankel Leó út in Buda. The atmosphere is the same, but the concept has changed somewhat. In the living-room version of the former nightspot, you can browse for vinyl and relax over drinks. At weekends, the store closes at seven, the record bins are pushed back and local DJs are called in to spin music until 11pm. Don’t be discouraged by the fact that Beat On The Brat is now daytime, as it’s the perfect venue for such a venture, while also holding regular themed parties at Toldi, Gólya or other underground venues.
