The delicatessen stores of Arbat focus on Russian cuisine, offering plenty of vodka, pickled and oily fish products, caviar, as well as kvass, a carbonated soft drink made from black bread, and freezers full of pre-made dumplings: pelmeni, coming from indigenous Siberian people, and Ukranian vareniki. The store also has the Russian curd cheese bar, syrok in its refrigerators, although the Hungarian túró rudi will always be a winner in our book.
