Paddy, the familiar name given to the sourdough used at the arán bakery, is now available in Buda as its second outlet has just opened on Móricz Zsigmond tér. Owners Kinga and Attila Pécsi learned their baking skills in Ireland, before coming home in 2019 to put that knowledge to good use. Their first bakery on Wesselényi utca become popular in no time, a trend this new one is sure to follow. It's a bit smaller, so their main profile is take away, but the breads are still amazing. The selection includes breads with miso and sesame seeds, as well as Irish soda and simple sourdough versions. Staff know their stuff and can advise about the pastries, cinnamon rolls, croissants filled with soft vanilla cream, mushroom pies and pesto cheese sticks to mention just a few. Try the four-cheese hot sandwich or a delicious porridge, topped either with Greek yoghurt, granola and homemade almond butter. Crown the whole thing with an excellent, specialty coffee supplied by the One Eleven roasters especially for arán.
