The sports swimming complex named after (and designed by) the first Hungarian Olympic champion was the first covered swimming complex of Hungary. This is the centre of Hungarian watersports: in addition to junior, youth and adult competitors (swimmers, water polo teams, synchronized swimming teams, freedivers, divers, pentathletes, and triathletes) residents can also enjoy the options it offers for sports and recreation. The facility was last renovated before the European Swimming Championships in 2006, when another 50-metre swimming pool and a diving pool were added to the complex - this new section was name Tamás Széchy Swimming Complex. The currently 80 000 square metres large facility awaits professional and amateur sportsmen and - women with altogether 8 pools and a diving tower. The complex is located in the picturesque scenery of the Margaret Island, therefore access by car requires a special permit.
