1. Pumpkin Panic Cellar and spooky experiments at the Centre of Scientific Wonders
From October 26th to November 3rd (over the autumn half-term), the Csodák Palotája (Centre of Scientific Wonders) in Csillaghegy is all decked out in Halloween spirit, ready to welcome both kids and grown-ups! Venture down to the Pumpkin Panic Cellar, where the whole family can tackle some unique bravery challenges. Meanwhile, in the Öveges Room, pumpkins take centre stage, becoming the stars of eye-catching experiments during live demonstrations.
The Pumpkin Panic Cellar is open all day throughout the entire programme, while the shows kick off daily at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm.

2. Madame Tussauds Budapest
Fear and terror are taking over Madame Tussauds Budapest, ready to welcome horror fans (aged 16 and over!). The Halloween edition of 'Night at the Museum' kicks off on October 30th and runs until October 31st, from 7 pm to 10:30 pm. Prepare to bump into classic terrifying characters in the production halls, with three dozen skeletons adorning the spaces. The café transforms into a graveyard, haunted by ghosts. Plus, Prince Majesty, a Michael Jackson lookalike, will wow the crowd with a show, all while the wax figure of the King of Pop makes a special (and temporary) appearance. (x)

3. Halloween Week at Hopaholic craft beer bar
Craft beer lovers, rejoice! Hopaholic, a craft beer bar in Budapest's party district, is celebrating Halloween in style. You can taste brews with spooky names for over a week (October 30th to November 10th). Try Grave Encounters by German Sudden Death and Berry on the Grave by Chez Thrills, then carry on with Peter Pumpkin Eater 666 by Hungarian Mad Scientist, or Be Monsters Batch 5 by the American Cerebral.

4. Los Orangutanes – Día De Los Muertos
If you are up for a vibrant fiesta to celebrate Día de los Muertos, to Turbina it is! Here, Hungary's number one, and probably only, Latin-American cumbia party band takes the stage, promising good vibes only. Los Orangutanes feature Hungarian, Peruvian, and Uruguayan musicians, and their pulsating rhythms and lively performance style will make you dance in no time.

5. Bem Cinema: Halloween Midnight Secret Screening
Wondering what's showing at Bem Cinema at midnight on October 31st? Well, no one knows! The organisers are keeping this year's Halloween screening a complete mystery right up until showtime. But one thing's for sure – you can expect something scary and definitely not suitable for all ages! And we also know that the film will be screened in English with Hungarian subtitles.

6. Fran Palermo – Halloween Special, Guest: Nasip Kismet (TUR/HU)
On October 31st, Hungarian indie band Fran Palermo is bringing a Halloween concert to Akvárium Klub's main hall. Expect a night packed with great music and visual spectacle, with tunes that will likely put you in a – good – trance. The band is currently working on a new album, and this concert offers a sneak peek at some of the tracks in the making. Opening the night is the Turkish-Hungarian band Nasip Kismet, known for blending traditional elements with pop-rock and psychedelic sounds.

7. Halloween at the Hungarian Railway Museum
The Railway Museum, Europe's largest open-air railway entertainment park, is also dressing up for Halloween, welcoming kids and adults on October 31st with exciting activities. Kids can get creative in craft workshops, making badges and railway-themed frottage prints, plus there'll be spooky face painting and glitter tattoos to perfect their Halloween looks. For the bravest visitors, the garden railway will transform into a ghost train, and everyone gets a free ride with their ticket!
8. Día De Los Muertos at UMO
Bringing its Latin American style, UMO, a chic restaurant near Buda Castle, is celebrating Día de los Muertos with a special evening event this year. On October 31st, enjoy an authentic dinner, cocktails, and live music, all surrounded by festive decorations perfect for the occasion. From 6 pm, candles will be lit, marking the start of this vibrant fiesta.

9. Spooky Bumbum – S*eggrázós Party
Though the hip 2nd district hangout Permanens Vakáció (Permanent Vacation) is all about endless summer breaks, they're dedicating an evening to one of autumn's most anticipated celebrations – Halloween! On October 31st, the Fészek Művészklub will be transformed for a booty-shaking party – literally as the name of the party series 'S*eggrázós' means just that. Prepare for a night of fun with delicious drinks and dancing until dawn.

10. Día De Muertos Weekend at Tereza
Downtown Mexican eatery Tereza is a beloved local gem, offering a year-round escape to the sunny vibes of Mexico City and Tulum. All are served up with mouth-watering tacos and refreshing margaritas. And Día de Muertos is no exception. From October 31st to November 3rd, you can join the festivities surrounded by altars overflowing with flowers, iconic skulls, and the warm glow of candlelight, while indulging in the big classics of Mexican cuisine. You can also show off your creativity in a costume competition, groove to live music and dive into arts and crafts workshops – a perfect way to embrace Mexican culture.

10+1. Halloween Run 2024
A special race that's taking place at a super cool spot matching Halloween vibes: a 2,5-kilometre-long tunnel system in Kőbánya. On November 9th, you can complete several distances (including categories for school children and younger), even in a costume, if you feel like that. Some magic and spookiness are on the cards, but there is no need to be scared – it's a family-friendly event after all.
