Bomboloni
Szabi Szabadfi opened his doughnut store on
Pozsonyi út in 2019. The flower-shaped goodies with creative fillings and
homemade jams might remind locals of the homely ones prepared by grandma, yet
they are professional and modern. As well as at this outlet, Bomboloni
doughnuts can be found at various markets around town and at Szabi’s other
bakeries.

The Box Donut
You can find these rectangular
doughnuts in various places in Budapest – at the Basilica, and Nyugati and
Keleti stations. Some standard ones are just glazed on top while others are
filled and full of colour. Their signature shape is not only easy to recognise,
but they’re also practical, as they can neatly fit into the delivery boxes.
Seasonal versions are always available, currently in vanilla-apple and
chocolate-pistachio flavours.
