In August, we welcome an exceptionally large-scale sports event in the city: the World Athletics Championships. 2,000 athletes from more than 200 countries will come to Budapest to celebrate the queen of sports. During the nine-day Championships, we can support the competitors during events such as the 100 metres, discus throw, shot put, hammer throw, javelin throw, triple jump, pole vault, long jump and high jump.
One of the special features of the event is the brand new location: the National Athletics Center, which is still under construction, has already taken its final shape. It will not only be the new home of Hungarian athletics but also the largest competition and training centre in Central Europe.
The aim of the organizers is to present competing superheroes in Central Europe for the first time.
While supporting the athletes who push the physical limits of a person, you can also get motivated to move and get to know some sports more closely.
