The series from
Zsombor Pólya
titled
Tértelenítés
is a puzzle of pictures that shows artwork and their surroundings. When looking at the strictly composed non-figurative, light-prints the viewers imagine what it likes to be in the shoes of the creator of the photos; they try to figure out the space of the museum that was photographed yet not shown on the picture. Pólya creates his puzzles by overloading the electronic devices, while the lenticular photo-series of Zoltán Maszák-Szegedy are fully based on analog, traditional photo-chemistry processes.
While the viewer searches for the reality, the space and the scenery behind the abstract compositions of Pólya’s pictures, the picture-riddles Szegedy-Maszák are multi-layered, overloaded “tangles”; while walking in front of the multi-view pictures we see more and more light-prints, perspectives, and sceneries. They're both leaving space behind, but in a different way; visitors have to give up their distant position and put themselves in the place of the creators in order to be able to take in the art.
