Though Verzió Documentary Film Festival is long over, organisers have arranged repeat screenings in February, with interesting follow-up discussions after each one. The first, to be shown on 7 February, is Srbenka, last year’s winner of the Best Human Rights Film Award. The film deals with the aftermath of the Yugoslav war and its influence on later generations. Although the horrors ended more than 20 years ago, hostility and prejudices still feature, some children hiding their nationality, afraid of the reaction from their peers. The film is screened in original language with English and Hungarian subtitles.
