The largest-ever exhibition at the Ludwig Museum comprises more than 200 works, some never seen before, others well-known classics, showcasing the unique voice and abstraction of Christian Frey, a prominent member of the industrial generation. Frey, as one of the most original figures of Hungarian non-figurative painting reborn in the 1960s, developed his special way of expression in the Hungarian arena, isolated from Western influences. After emigration to Switzerland, he further enriched his radical approach, including as an early pioneer of computer art.
